Linear Fluorescent Lighting Fixtures
Recently, a new style of individual use light bulb has come out. Have you noticed the new 'energy saving' bulbs? These are simply twisted up fluorescent lamps! The amount of energy saved is astounding and, even better, these twisted up fluorescent lamps last many times longer than a standard style incandescent lamp. It's no wonder that the government, power companies, and environmental activists have been pushing these new bulbs to consumers all across America for the last few years. If more people switched to this style of lighting, we would reduce the United States' dependence on foreign oil and overall energy needs, while maintaining a similar level of usable light in the country, reducing landfill usage and waste due to fluorescent lamps' longer working life, and even saving money all the while!
This is not the best news for those of you who really hate fluorescent lighting. Pretty soon, almost all of the light, outside of the sun's light, in the United States is going to be provided by a fluorescent source. A lot of people will not like it, but the energy savings and cost savings are undeniable. Hopefully, we can get used to it. Maybe it will encourage Americans to get outside more if fluorescent lighting is that irritating. Here's to our fluorescent future!
